2018: Budget Cornerstone wins state honor

The New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) announced on Oct. 4, that Spencerport was among the award winners in its 39th annual NYSPRA Communications Awards.

Lanette Cypher, Spencerport communication specialist, and Lisa Constantine, BOCES 2 graphic designer, won an award of honor for the May 2018 edition of the Budget Cornerstone. Of the 511 entries judged by communications professionals around the country, slightly over one-third received awards. 

2015: Budget Cornerstone, Unified Sports video win state honors

The New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) has recognized Spencerport once again with an award of honor for 2015 – this time for the budget newsletter category for Cornerstone. In addition, the district received an award of merit in the DVD/video category for the Spencerport Unified Sports video. Judged by communication professionals from across the country, there were more than 345 entries in 14 different categories in the 2015 contest, and about one-third of the submissions received awards. 

NYSPRA announced the awards last month, and a list of winners may be found at this link, http://www.nyspra.org/2015-NYSPRA-Award-Winners.pdf.  The winning projects will be displayed during the upcoming convention of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) in New York City.

Cornerstone, along with the majority of our publications, is a collaborative effort of Lanette Cypher, our Spencerport communication specialist, with Lisa Constantine, Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES graphic designer and the BOCES 2 printing and graphics department.

Anthony Puleo, digital media technician for BOCES 2, created the Unified Sports video for the Spencerport school district to showcase this new countywide basketball program. The winning video may be found at this link, https://ensemble.monroe2boces.org/Watch/n5CHj8w2



2014: Cornerstone wins award of honor

The New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) has recognized Spencerport with an award of honor for its district newsletter, Cornerstone. Judged by communication professionals from across the country, there were more than 330 entries in 14 different categories in the 2014 contest, and about one-third of the submissions received awards.

NYSPRA announced Cornerstone as an award of honor winner in the community newsletter category and specifically for the September 2013 and June 2014 editions.

NYSPRA has recognized Spencerport in previous years with awards of honor and excellence for writing, special purpose publication (2008 district brochure), and the district calendar.

2012-13 district calendar wins award

The New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) has recognized the Spencerport School District with an award of honor for its 2012-13 printed school calendar.

Of more than 350 entries in a closely drawn judging by communications professionals around the country, about one-third have received awards. Awards were presented to winners at the 2013 NYSPRA awards luncheon, during the 2013 convention of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) in Rochester.
