The department of Secondary Education contains the development, coordination and assessment of instructional programs at the secondary level. - English Language Arts

- Technology Education
This office focuses on student achievement including: - Goal setting, and monitoring of goals for each subject area.
- Directing and supporting the district processes for textbook selection, curriculum and assessment development, and implementation of curriculum.
- Leading the program development and evaluation process, such as for Project Lead the Way in Technology Education.
- Improving integration of learning across the core subjects K-12. For example, SED recognizes Math, Science, and Technology as a unified area.
- Maintaining currency of SED developments and new research in the field.
- Identifying, preparing, planning, and organizing in-service for each subject area.
- Identifying and ordering instructional materials.
- Observing second year teachers in the subject area to provide academic critique and growth goals.
- Managing student identification processes for honors and accelerated programs.
- Organizing our summer and school year reading and math support programs.
