Parents, who consider providing home instruction for their children, must follow the regulations of the Commissioner of Education. Key requirements for parents providing home instruction include:

• Annually providing written notice of the intent to instruct at home to the Office of Instruction by July 1 of each year.

• Completing an Individual Home Instruction Plan for each child, which must be approved by the Superintendent or designee.

• Quarterly reports for each child must be furnished by the parent /guardian to the district.

• Annual assessment results for each child on a commercially published norm referenced test must be submitted.
