Parents, community members, and friends of Spencerport High School,
Friday, January 27, marked the end of the first semester. I hope that the first semester has been both a successful and enjoyable one for each of our students. Report cards for the second quarter will be mailed home on Friday, February 3. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or counselors with questions and/or concerns. Communication is vital between home and school and we will do everything we can to assist our students and their families.
Our winter sports season is in full swing. There are many different sporting events taking place on almost a daily basis and I would encourage friends of Spencerport High School to attend some of these athletic contests. We are also eagerly anticipating or annual Evening of Jazz directed/organized by our own Mr. John Viavattine. The 14th Evening of Jazz will take place on Saturday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Spencerport High School. Our students are looking forward to welcoming our special guest, world renowned saxophonist Eric Marienthal. Eric is one of the most highly regarded jazz and fusion players today. Along with the high school jazz band, we will also be able to listen to the Cosgrove Jazz Band, Hilton H.S. Jazz Band and the Fairport H.S. Jazz Band.
Four seniors, Haley Chavira, Gina Papineau, Brittany Antonelli and JamieLynn Cerretto, have been collecting baby items for their Participation in Government project. They will be donating these items to the Baby Love Organization which is a collaboration between Golisano Children's Hospital and the Rochester Early Enhancement Project and offers a continuum of services for children from birth to age 9. Their picture is posted below.
There are so many great things happening at Spencerport High School on a daily basis because of our students, parents, and staff members. Thank you for your continued support of Spencerport High School and our students.
