Assistant principals appointed for HS, Cosgrove

The administrative retirements for athletic director, Taylor elementary principal and director of student information services have resulted in a number of new appointments across the district.  

The accompanying chart highlights the administrators assuming new roles, as well as the subsequent appointments announced for the assistant principal openings.

More details on each administrator will be provided in the upcoming Cornerstone, however here is a quick summary.

Telcie Pincelli

Telcie Pincelli has been named as the new Taylor Elementary School principal, following the retirement of Dr. Monica Macaluso.

Pincelli has served as the assistant principal of Cosgrove Middle School this year; a district K-5 instructional specialist from 2015-2018; and as an elementary classroom teacher from 2006-2015.

Jennifer Placito

Jennifer Placito will assume her new position as the director of health, physical education, and athletics on July 1, following the retirement of John Pelin.

Placito has served as an assistant principal at Spencerport High School since 2017. She has also worked in the Brockport Central School District as a teacher and coach.

Tim O’Connor

Tim O’Connor will be the new director of student information services, starting on July 1. He fills the open position, following the retirement of Linda Howell.

O’Connor has served as an assistant principal at Spencerport High School since 2014 and as a technology teacher from 2004-2014.

Assistant Principals

After the above appointments, the district conducted a candidate search for the assistant principal openings, and the Board Education approved three assistant principals, as follows:

Michael Calzi, Spencerport High School

Michael Calzi has served as an assistant principal for East High School in the Rochester City School District for the last two years. Calzi has more than nine years of experience in education, including work as a lead teacher/instructional coach and science teacher at East. 

Amy Sullivan, Spencerport High School

Amy Sullivan has more than 10 years of experience in education, and currently teaches math at Lancaster High School. In addition to her teaching duties there, Sullivan also serves as a substitute assistant principal and teacher leader/mentor for new and veteran teachers.

David Russell, Cosgrove Middle School

David Russell comes to us from Sodus Central School District where he has served as a special education teacher for the past four years. For the last two summers, he has been an assistant principal at the Western Wayne Summer Academy for the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES.

Tracey D’Alonzo, appointed in January

In January, the Board of Education appointed Tracey D’Alonzo as an assistant principal at Cosgrove. She has filled the open position left vacant by Jim Centola, who is the new Cosgrove principal. D’Alonzo started her new position in January, and she is included in these transitions in leadership.

D’Alonzo has been part of the Spencerport faculty since 2014, as a teacher in the special education department.
