October - December 2024
  • Review budget process and guidelines with the Board of Education, building principals, and department directors
  • Invite community volunteers for Budget Focus Group
  • Presentation of base budget and early assumptions
January - February 2025
  • The superintendent with his cabinet team works with each school principal and operations director to thoroughly review their respective budgets and anticipated staffing needs (retirements, attrition, class size guidelines, enrollment, etc.).

  • The Budget Focus Group meets twice a month to receive updates and provide feedback on the emerging budget, revenues, and expenditures.

  • Meetings held with the four town assessors to gain insight into the status of property assessments and equalization rates. The four towns that make up Spencerport are Ogden, Parma, Greece and Gates.

  • Finalize budgets for each school and department
March 2025
  • Budget Focus Group meetings

  • Revise projected revenues and expenditures as updates are available and solidified
April 2025
  • Superintendent recommends final budget proposal to board
  • Community engagement
  • Deadline to submit petitions to run for the board, Apr. 21

  • Cornerstone newsletter and budget notice sent to post office
