Athletic updates

June 15, 2020

Ranger Families,

As we continue to navigate these uncertain times, we sincerely appreciate your continued support and patience as we comb through new guidance daily. As recently shared by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHAA) and the Governor, school districts must be in Phase Four for traditional summer facility use to commence, with specific guidelines and procedures to be followed. NYSPHAA has recently released guidance documents pertaining to summer workouts. With this, we are taking a pragmatic approach to our continued planning for our Spencerport Booster Club Summer camps that were scheduled to begin on June 29, 2020.

At this time, we will be postponing all camps until after the July 4 holiday. The district re-opening task force will reconvene at that time to review if we can safely open facilities for camp use while adhering to the NYSPHAA guidelines to ensure safety for all athletes, coaches and families. They will consider our ability to follow NYS, County and CDC guidelines along with our Facility Use Regulations to make their decision. We will share more information after the July 4 holiday.

We understand and truly value the importance of these camps to our current and future student athletes and will continue to work diligently to evaluate all safety guidelines to make a safe and informed decision. Thank you for your continued patience and support during these unprecedented times.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Stay healthy and well.

With Ranger Pride,

Jen Placito
Director of PE/Health & Athletics
