Subsidy dinners for May 26-29

May 22 update:

Week 9 of the #SpencerportTogether dinner subsidy program has now resulted in nearly 16,000 meals that have been served to families financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The continued partnership with our donors, restaurants, volunteers and community partners is amazing and of course, appreciated. Thank you so much, Spencerport!

Dinner pickup guidelines:

Distribution takes place from 4:30-5:30 p.m., or until supplies last. Drivers must enter the district campus from the west entrances by Bernabi or District Office, then head east on Ranger Road until you reach the high school. At the stop sign, turn left toward Lyell Avenue. The pick-up location will be at the back entrance of the HS west cafeteria before reaching the Performing Art Center with the exception of McDonalds sponsored nights will be at the restaurant. Signs will be displayed to direct vehicles. Participants must remain in the vehicle, and meals will be handed through the passenger side window. We will collect money on the driver side of the vehicle and ask participants NOT to roll up the money.

Safety and security:
We also ask participating families to follow these guidelines for pickup:

• Please do not arrive on campus before 4 p.m.; for security reasons, we do not allow line up before that time;

• Have cash ready and windows down on both the driver side and passenger side when approaching distribution area; We will continue to collect money on the driver side of the vehicle and ask participants NOT to roll up the money to expedite the line. This has helped us with collecting and counting money. Thank you.

• Please have someone else attend if you are not feeling well or have any symptoms of COVID-19. Wearing a face mask during this process of exchange is recommended to ensure the greatest safety;

• For the safety of our volunteers we ask that there are no animals/pets in the front seat of the vehicle where meals are passed through the window.

We look forward to continuing this program, and appreciate your support as we learn, make necessary adjustments, and ultimately address this need in our community. Please be sure to visit our website for the menu, prices, and locations for the upcoming week. Thank you again to all of our sponsors, volunteers and generous donors who have made this possible.

THANK you to the Spencerport Education Foundation, Ogden Police Chief Christopher Mears, Town of Ogden Police Department, Spencerport Fire District, and local restaurants for going above and beyond with us in offering this program.

What is it?

On March 23, SpencerportCSD began working with the Spencerport Education Foundation and area restaurant owners on a “SpencerportTogether” initiative for families who may need assistance with dinners, beyond the meal distribution plan currently in place for students for grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches.

The Spencerport COVID-19 Dinner Subsidy Fund is intended to benefit our community in two ways:
• provide free or reduced dinners to families financially impacted by the COVID situation.
• generate some revenue, albeit limited, to our local restaurants.

The program will be funded through community/business donations, along with the participating restaurant’s sponsorships and/or discount prices.

The Spencerport Education Foundation has agreed to collect and distribute the donated funds, through its PayPal and checking accounts. A link to the SEF website below outlines the steps required, and please be sure to indicate "Food Drive" in the memo sections for accounting and tracking purposes.

PLEASE USE the PayPal or personal check only to support Spencerport Together.  The payroll deduction option is for donations to SEF, which includes more than just support for Spencerport Together.
