Updated Dec.  2021 -  We are happy to share that the state is allowing in person driving again for Winter/Spring 2022. 


We welcome our new instructor to the team, Mr. Scott Redding, grew up in Hamlin, NY and currently teaches in Seneca Falls and has taught driver education for many districts in the Southern Tier. Mr. Redding, enjoys teaching driver ed so much that he has agreed to help the Spencerport students. 

Mr. Tom Fasoldt comes to us with 20 years of experience and is a social studies teacher in the Greece School District.  We are hoping to add a second instructor as well.

Registration will open December 22, 2021 Female student driving

Open to district residents only at this time. First priority will be given to our Seniors, then Juniors. If spots are still available we will open to those who are 16 years old with a permit. You must have a permit by the first day of class.

Driver Education approx.. 16 week end of January through June 11, 2022

Drive time once a week, Theory/Classroom training on Wednesdays after school or Saturdays depending on session you choose. Students may not go back and forth between instructors.

MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES. No make ups for the Theory class. 

Open to Spencerport School District Residents Only at this time.

Priority given to Seniors, then Juniors, then sophomores if spots are available.

You will choose drive time in order of online registration date and time. The Community Programs department will contact you via phone and/or email.

About the Driver Education program, it is a combination of 16 classroom and 16 road class sessions. Students who complete all the requirements of this course will receive a Student Certificate of Completion that gives the holder the privilege to receive a class D operator’s license at age of 17 allowing them to drive after 9 p.m.

A 10% discount on liability and collision insurance is available from most insurance companies.

The 5-hour pre-licensing class ($35 fee) and the loan of a text is included in the class fee.

Quick Facts:

  3. 10 to 15% discount on your car insurance
  4. Students can drive after 9 p.m. when they turn 17 years old after completing the course.
  5. Students need to be 16 years old on the day of the first class.
  6. Open to all districts, however in district and Spencerport students have priority over non-residence students for fall winter and spring sessions.
