Energy Performance Contract: referendum 2

In May 2024, Spencerport voters approved a referendum authorizing the district to request an additional 10% building aid from the state of New York for an Energy Performance Contract. The $4 million project, which was previously approved by the board of education, pays for itself by addressing energy efficiencies.

The EPC has no impact on local taxes.

Referendum 2 requests authorization from voters to allow for permanent financing. Benefits would be:
  • greater fiscal flexibility over time
  • savings by consolidating borrowing with the capital project

  • Proposition 2: Energy Performance Contract authorization to allow for permanent financing
