Spencerport Central School District

Parents providing home instruction for their children must follow the regulations of the Commissioner of Education. Key requirements include:

• Annually providing written notice of the intent to instruct at home to the Office of Instruction by July 1 of each year. 
• Completing an Individual Home Instruction Plan for each child, which must be approved by the superintendent or designee. 
• Quarterly reports for each child must be furnished by the parent /guardian to the district. 
• Annual assessment results for each child must be submitted each year. Specific guidelines regarding assessments can be found in the New York State Home Instruction regulations.
