The Board of Education has adopted the 2026-27 tax levy and tax rates following receipt of the final assessment reports from each town.

The approved tax levy totals $46,006,194, a 2.8% increase that was communicated to residents prior to the second budget vote in June. The 2026-27 tax rates are:

•    Ogden: $16.05 per $1,000 of assessed value
•    Gates: $14.90 per $1,000 of assessed value
•    Greece: $25.63 per $1,000 of assessed value
•    Parma: $16.23 per $1,000 of assessed value

While school districts establish the tax levy—the total amount raised to support the school budget—they do not control property assessments or equalization rates. Those factors are determined by the towns and New York State and affect how the levy is distributed among taxpayers.

The Board of Education reelected Leah Brown as president and Megan Sarkis as vice president during its annual organizational meeting on July 14.

The officers were elected by unanimous vote. Incumbent David Gibbardo and new board members Sean McCabe and Mark McLean took the oath of office following their election in May.

The district extends its sincere appreciation to outgoing board members Lori Stone and Marsha Hinman for their dedicated service to students, staff and the community. The district also recognizes Stone for her leadership, serving as previous board president in 2024-25.
