Math Expressions is a K-6 Math Program developed from Children's Math Worlds Research Project conducted by Dr. Karen Fuson. This 10-year project studied ways students around the world understand math concepts, approach problem solving, and learn to do computation.
Math Expressions incorporates the best practices of both traditional and reform mathematics curricula. It strikes a balance between promoting student-generated solution methods and introducing effective research-based methods. Math Expressions fits the learning progressions, the core grade-level goals, and the dual focus on understanding and fluency of the Common Core Standards.
