Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR)

Consistent with Education Law §30-2.3, the Spencerport Central School District’s Board of Education has adopted plans for the Annual Professional Performance Review of its classroom teachers.   

Education Law 3012-d
Upon request, the district will release to parents/legal guardians the final quality ratings and composite effectiveness scores for teachers and principals to which their student is currently assigned. The district's obligation to disclose this information is limited to those teachers and building principals subject to Education Law 3012-d. Upon request, parents will receive an oral explanation of the composite effectiveness scoring ranges for final quality ratings and be offered the opportunity to understand such scores in the context of teacher evaluation and student performance.

The following information will be provided to parents/family upon request:

Whether the student’s teacher:
  • has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction;
  • is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; and
  • is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher. In addition,
  • whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals
  • and, if so, their qualifications.
