    Updated April 2022 -  We are happy to share that the state is allowing in person driving again for Winter/Spring 2022 and the Summer of 2022. 

    Registration will open for Summer last week in April 2022. We are currently working on the details. However, we know the following:Female student driving

    Summer

  • 1. Every other week schedule - Need to complete 16 classroom/theory classes. Students cannot miss a class for theory.
  • 2. Students will be allowed to swap a limited amount of road classes with the permission of their instructor in their own session. 
  • 3. Students will drive e/o week daily M-F. 
  • 4. Students cannot be late or miss partial classes due to attending Sport Booster Camps. 
  • 5. Registration: Email will be sent home and also links online via social media pages sometime the end of April 2022.
  • 6. Not all students who register will get into the session -refunds will be given if your student does not qualify. 

  • Open to district residents only at this time. First priority will be given to our Seniors, then Juniors. If spots are still available we will open to those who are 16 years old with a permit. You must have a permit by the first day of class.
  • REFUNDS -- once session starts no refunds will be given unless student's have medical need.
  • Please be aware that students must sign a code of conduct and expectation agreement for the safety of all students and instructors. Students may be removed from class if they do not abide by the guidelines, no refunds will be given. 
  • We do not recommend students take driver education if they are involved in Fall Musical, Fall, Winter, Spring School Sports Team, Winter/Spring Robotics.

Sessions: 

1.Winter Spring 2022 approx.. 16 week end of January through June 11, 2022
2. Summer 2022 approx. July 5th through August 20th
3. Fall 2022 approx. Sept. 12th through January 15, 2023
4. Winter Spring 2023 approx. Feb 1st through June 12, 2023


Summer 2022 -  A and B day sessions July through August 17, 2022 must be available for road classes and classroom session M-F every other week. 

Fall, Winter/Spring sessions - your student will drive once a week, Theory/Classroom training on Wednesdays after school or Saturdays depending on session you choose.

MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES.  

Open to Spencerport School District Residents Only at this time.

Priority given to Seniors, then Juniors, then sophomores if spots are available.

You will choose drive time in order of online registration date and time. The Community Programs department will contact you via phone and/or email.  

Fee $466 for summer session 2022 due to gas price increase

About the Driver Education program, it is a combination of 16 classroom and 16 road class sessions. Students who complete all the requirements of this course will receive a Student Certificate of Completion that gives the holder the privilege to receive a class D operator’s license at age of 17 allowing them to drive after 9 p.m.

A 10% discount on liability and collision insurance is available from most insurance companies.

The 5-hour pre-licensing class ($35 fee) and the loan of a text is included in the class fee.

  6. Open to all districts, however in district and Spencerport students have priority over non-residence students for fall winter and spring sessions.
