Spencerport offers many Sports Opportunities for our students in grades 7 -12.
Eligibility
In order to be able to participate, all athletes:
- Must attend preseason information meeting and sign up for each season in which they wish to participate.
- Have a current physical (Health Appraisal) on file with the school nurse. These are valid for one calendar year.
- Register on FamilyID, upload current physical, and be approved by the School Nurse.
- Will attend sports tryout practices for fall (beginning in August/September), winter (beginning in November) and spring sports (beginning in March)
Sign ups for sports take place during Activity Period (HS) or FLEX Periods (Cosgrove) and are published on the District Calendar. a.
Announcements are also made one (1) week in advance.
If a student has asthma, they must submit to the Nurse:
1. New order for this school year from the doctor for the inhaler.
2. Attestation Form (NOT an order from doctor saying they can self carry!) or the med needs to be given to the coach in order to practice, in which case the student-athlete is not self-carrying.
If the student has a life-threatening allergy they must have:
1. Emergency Care Plan (ECP) that was sent home to them by Nurse Office in June. Must be completed.
2. Attestation form for epi pen
(NOT an order from doctor saying they can self carry!) or the med needs to be given to the coach in order to practice, in which case the student-athlete is not self-carrying.
3. New order from the doctor for the meds for this school year.
If the student has diabetes:
1. Diabetic orders from the doctor for the school year.
2. ECP filled out
3. Attestation Form must be filled out and submitted to the School Nurse to carry diabetic supplies
***Any other health issue that requires an ECP (was sent home to all that require it in June) they must have the ECP filled out, submitted to the School Nurse, and be approved in FamilyID before participating in sports.
