All Meals Free

On August 31, 2020, the federal government announced free breakfast and lunch for all students in all districts across the nation until June 30, 2021.

This waiver has been extended until June 30, 2022. All students in the Spencerport CSD will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2021-22 school year. All students opting for a free breakfast or lunch MUST take the full meal each time.

Any lunch items purchased A La Carte (including milk only purchases) are NOT covered under the waiver and must be paid for. This also includes snacks, doubles, water bottles, and ice cream.

Normally at this time, families are filling out free and reduced applications before the deadline of Oct. 17 to ensure their children receive the benefits until the following October school year.

We are asking families to continue to submit applications to Spencerport CSD Food Service Department, even though free meals will be offered through the 2021-22 school year, for the following reasons:

  • Students who request fee waivers for AP exams, college applications, etc. will not qualify for the fee waiver if they do not have a current application on file.
  • If the federal government decides to release a new batch of P-EBT Food Benefit Cards to families during the pandemic, like last summer, families may not qualify if there is not a current application on file.
  • A current application will allow students to be temporarily eligible for the first 30 operational days of the next school year (2022-23). This will buy families time to put in a new application for next year once the reapplication process begins over the summer.
