All new hires complete the Core programs. The Core programs are selected research-based programs that provide teachers with baseline theory, effective instructional practices and District language. They include:
- Elements of Instruction - general instructional planning and delivery practices
- Teacher Expectations and Student Achievement (TESA) - 15 teacher behaviors that convey high expectations to students
- Literacy for ALL - the role of literacy in all settings
- Classroom Management - setup of the classroom to increase productive behavior
- 4MAT / Differentiation of Instruction - a program that combines learning styles and differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners in response to their various readiness levels, interests and learning styles.
